How much does it cost to advertise on Google™?
When advertising on Google™, the cost of your campaigns really depends on you -- how much you're willing to pay and how well you know your audience. It all boils down to knowing your own goals and applying them to your account. There is a nominal, one-time activation fee for advertising on Google™. After that, you pay only for clicks on your keyword-targeted AdWords ads. You can control your costs by selecting how much you're willing to pay per click by setting a daily budget for spending in your account. This daily budget is set by you once you sign up with Advertising Service. For example, a new advertiser paying in USD can activate their account with a daily budget of just US$5.00, and can then choose a maximum cost-per-click (CPC) from US$0.01 - US$100. Unfortunately Google™ does not disclose how much each phrase and word costs to bid on. However we use a special “keyword” bidding tool that gives us a ballpark idea of what you can expect to pay and once the account goes live we adjust those prices accordingly to ensure that you receive maximum exposure for the amount you wish to spend. Daily budgets start as low as $1 up to whatever limit the advertiser is comfortable spending.
How much do I need to spend? What budget should I start out on?
Your budget is completely up to how much you wish to spend. We have some clients who spend $2 a day and we have one client who spends over $10,000 a day! Because Google™ is a dynamic system you can set your own budget. You are also free to change this amount whenever you wish. If you find that the words you’re bidding on are working for you, you can increase your daily budget at any time. Your initial daily budget is set based on the amount you suggested or suggest in the signup form. Google™ will never bill you for more than your daily budget amount. However it is important to note that if there are more searches and possible clicks than what you have set for your daily budget, then your ad will not be able to be displayed all the time. In other words, if the demand for a particular phrase you are bidding on is higher than the supply in which you are prepared to spend on advertising, Google™ cannot show your ad every time. This is to ensure that you are never billed more than your daily budget. However, again, it’s completely up to you. We will work with whatever budget you can assign for now. We suggest a $5-$10 a day test, for small sites that are unsure of how much to spend, that works out to be about $250-$300/month.

Credit Limits and Billing Cycle Explained
When you activate your Google™ account, Google™ charges you a one-time activation fee. Following that, they will set your initial credit limit at US$50 (or your local currency rate). Your credit limit is raised in increments each time your account hits its credit limit before 30 days have ended. The initial credit limit of US$50 is first raised to US$200, then to US$350, and then to the final limit of US$500. Each time you reach your credit limit or after 30 days, a new billing cycle begins.
Billing Cycle Example
For example, let's say you activated your account and starts accruing costs on Oct. 1: •On Oct. 5, you reach your initial credit limit of US$50. At that time, Google™ will charge you for the amount accrued (which might be in slight excess of the credit limit if you accrued costs quickly). Your credit limit is increased to US$200. A new billing cycle begins. •On Oct. 25, you again reach your credit limit of US$200, triggering Google™ to charge you for costs accrued. Google™ again raises your credit limit to US$350, and initiates a new billing cycle. •On Nov. 18, you accrue more than US$350 in charges. Google™ will bill you and will raise your credit limit to US$500. •Your next bill will be processed on Dec. 18 or when you exceeds the final US$500 credit limit - whichever comes first.
